About the Festival
Sunday 2nd May 2010 10am to 4 pm
The Collector Village Pumpkin Festival is about food, family, friends
and fun! Now in its 7th year, the festival continues to attract
thousands of people to the tiny village of Collector to participate in
this charming community-run family festival. With good old fashioned fun
- pumpkin growing competitions, pumpkin soup, pumpkin scones, regional produce,
stalls, activities, performances and displays, the festival is steadily building
a reputation as one of the regions not-to-be-missed annual events.
At Collector, we are not renowned for growing pumpkins, but rather for fine
wool, fat lambs, prime beef, and of course: Bushrangers. But the residents of
this historic village have taken passionately to our quirky pumpkin festival.
Each year, the community elects a team of volunteers to stage the festival with
the focus on constantly improving the event. More and more visitors are flocking
here each year and the $5 per family entry fee raises funds to improve our
community facilities such as the Collector Memorial Hall.
