Have you grown the biggest pumpkin in the land?
Can you make the best scarecrow using a carved pumpkin as a head?
Are your pumpkin scones and pies simply the best?

Check out the list of competitions below and the great prize money on offer at the 2010 Collector Village Pumpkin Festival.

Competitions

Prize Money Offered
Hundreds of dollars in prize money will also be awarded for the following competitions:

  • Best scarecrow (junior section – to be constructed on the day from materials supplied by the festival committee)
  • Best grey pumpkin (Qld Blue, etc)
  • Smallest ripe pumpkin
  • Best carved pumpkin
  • Most unusual pumpkin
  • Best pumpkin scone (plate of 6)
  • Best pumpkin pie (sweet or savoury)

Prize money and ribbons will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in all events.

Entry Conditions and information:

Entries for The Great Big Pumpkin Competition and The National Scarecrow Competition must be delivered to the Collector Memorial Hall on Saturday 1st May 2010 before 3:00pm. An entry fee of $5 must accompany each entry in these events and is payable before the official “weigh-in”.

Entries in the following competitions:
Best grey pumpkin,
Smallest ripe pumpkin,
Best carved pumpkin
and
Most unusual pumpkin
should also be entered on Saturday 1st May 2010 and will cost $2:00 per entry.

Entries in the cooking section for best pumpkin scone and best pumpkin pie may be entered on the day (Sunday 2nd May 2010) but must be received before 9:00 am for judging. Cost of entering is $2:00 per entry.

**Please note**
For pumpkin scones, you should have six (6) scones on a plate as one entry.
For pumpkin pie, only one (1) pie with a minimum diameter of 20cm per entry is required and your pie maybe sweet or savoury.
